iQOO India League 2024 Called Off Following Multiple Issues

iQOO India League 2024 took place on LAN with 16 teams set to compete against each other from 22nd to 24th February at the Noida Indoor Stadium for a total prize pool of INR 40,00,000 with additional INR 2,00,000 being offered for standout individual and team performances.

Unfortunately, across the first two days of this tournament, only one match was hosted successfully on the second day, which was won by GodLike Esports, shortly after which the event was canceled.

Day 1 of iQOO India League 2024 faced multiple technical issues due to which the tournament organizers were forced to call it a day without any matches being played. According to the players at the LAN event, internet connectivity was one of the main issues.

The event was initially supposed to start at 16:30 IST on 22nd February, Thursday, but there was a delay due to which the scheduled livestream was first pushed to 17:00 IST and then later to 17:50 IST.

However, none of the deadlines were met and after a couple of hours, it was finally revealed that the first day of the tournament had been canceled.

A public apology was made by iQOO Esports shortly after, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we could not start the matches today and deeply regret the disappointment and inconvenience it may have caused you."

The organizers and sponsors faced a lot of backlash and criticism from the Indian mobile gaming community.

At the same time, some prominent members also took a stance in support of them. Kartik Sabherwal - Founder of Upthrust Esports, was one them, whose message was reshared by lot of other talents.

Despite the confidence shown in them, Day 2 of iQOO India League 2024, did not go about as expected.

The tournament once again faced a delayed start on 23rd February, Friday, but somehow the organizers managed to start the first match of the event, which was won by GodLike Esports.

It seemed that everything would go smoothly from this point forward but then teams started complaining about in-game sound issues which resulted in the livestream getting delayed.

After some time it was revealed by Thug, via his broadcast channel on Instagram, that iQOO India League 2024 had been called off and also said that he feels bad for the company hosting this BGMI tournament.

The tournament was originally supposed to be played across three days on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of February with six matches being played on every single day, resulting in a total of 18 matches.

After the first day of the event was canceled, it was announced that seven matches would be played by teams on the remaining two days, resulting in a total of 14 matches.

In the end, only one match was played after which iQOO India League 2024 was cancelled.

An official statement on the matter is still awaited from iQOO Esports or other parties involved with this tournament
